What is required to become a Direct Support Professional/AFL Provider?
Each person considered for employment must have a minimum of a GED or a High School Diploma. Potential Staff must be able to successfully pass a background check and have a clean record on the NC Healthcare Registry. A DSP is required to complete training in the areas of First Aid & CPR, NCI, Bloodbourne Pathogens, Medication Administration, Client Specific Training and core competencies.
An AFL Provider is required to complete all of the above mentioned trainings in addition to AFL Specific Training.
